Post subject:  What!!!!?!?!?!

You can buy a carnkshaft kit from Autozone for $230 or so, comes with a 1968+ crank and bearings from Fed Mog. No core return.
(I think it's something like Fed Mog 13510.) I have one in my 10:1 build, crank and bearings came .010/.010.

If you were local to Oregon someone might have a spare knocking around as a door weight.

How'd you snap the crankshaft????

i bought this car and had it for like 8 months then i was driving then BAM it sounded like a diesel. pulled the engine and i guess the guy i bought it from rebuilt it and did a @#$& job on it. i always changed the oil every 3k and toke care of my baby. its nasty looking for sure. ill post some pics later. crazy thing is it ran for like 10 mins still and all this a week before a car show i was heart broken to say the lease

i never thought of checking auto zone thanks. ill check them out right now.
tried to order one from rock auto but that didnt work out

Post subject:  crank

hello. i just went through getting a replacement crank for my 67 block. all the parts stores, including napa, now get their cranks for this application from "Crankshaft Rebuilders, inc." i had to return the first one due to too many flaws to mention. the second one was better but i had my machinist clean up the journals as they needed some more polishing and i need to do some repair to the keyway slot where someone buggered it up removing the timing gear key.

my recommendation, for what it is worth, is to get one from one of the members of this site or from a donor engine. the aftermarket stuff is not what it used to be.

they had 2 more in the system (same result from all parts stores) when i got my second one and 13510 is the part number for a forged crank with large register.

if i was doing it again, i would not deal with aftermarket remanufactured stuff.

have a great day, andy.
