Post subject:  funky nos hyd rocker arm

some time ago I bought a group of 14 NOS hydraulic rocker arms from Mancini, was part of their slant six mopar engineering stock sale,,

pulled them from the mopar service boxes, dated Feb of 1990,, to get them ready for the engine build,,,found one where there is a missed stamping operation.

the flat shoe that should match to the valve stem is not formed, also on the same rocker the push rod seat is not finished,, both of those are probably done in the same hit..

see that in the first two photos,,

also found that the rockers are not all from the same tooling / source.. there are 8 of them where the marking on the sides is different in detail and the shoe that would hit the valve stem is much larger..

in the photo with three rockers, the far right one is one from the 83 D-150, other two as the NOS pieces.

funny that the non finished part sat around for 22 years, and ended up with the same guy that got mis machined K1 rod bearing tangs,,,

You could put it on E-Bay. With a little salesmanship you could promote it as a factory "misprint". Sorta like a mis-struck coin or a stamp with an inverted airplane. Might bring in big bucks. :D

I had to buy 2 complete sets of rockers to put together 1 good set for my hydro motor. Not only are some of the "shoes" not stamped well but some of them had blocked oiling passages at the tip of the rocker arm. I also found that the rockers that appeared to have very small or misstamped rocker tips the valve lash was .090-.010" tighter than the other rockers

"You could put it on E-Bay."

I suggest including words/phrases such as, "rare", "collector's item" and "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own" in the item description...
