I need to switch the tachometer in the GodsRods Duster II over from the 8 cylinder setting to the 6 cylinder setting, but am not sure how to do that. I looked it over when I took it out of the Street Duster and put it in the GodsRods Duster II, but didn't see anything obvious.

Here's the tach in question:

Anyone..? Thanks!

Usually there are dip switches on the back panel, or a little cover you remove with switches behind it, or sometimes have to take tach apart to get to switches inside... I think that one has a little cover.

Thanks Lou!

DIP Switches... Got it! (On / Off / On for 6 cylinder)

I'll swing by the garage on the way home to fix it! :D

Some have wires you have to cut. My Autometer had 3 little wires, and you had to cut the right colored one.

Yep, I stopped by on the way home and there is no cover or switches, but there are two smaller wires(orange and black) that are looped at the back along with the standard red, white & green wires and shift light wires.

This is an Auto Meter Pro-Comp "Monster" tach.

That just seems wrong to cut wires like that. What if I want to put this tach in a V8 car later?

I've just been through the Auto Meter website and all of the FAQs, Installation Help, etc, etc... Doesn't say which wire(s) to cut, so I sent 'em an email with the question...

Yeah I had to cut mine too. I think in this day and age it is really stupid to have to do that. The dip switch "option" would probably cost 3 cents!

Sorry don't know which one to cut.

I sent my Autometer in for repair and when it came back all the wires had been replaced.
