Does anyone know if an 8 3/4 rear out of a 1970 1/2 ton truck would be the same width as my 85 1/2 ton with the 8 1/4? Over all, and spring perches? I have my eye on one and I was wondering how much will need to be changed to make it work. Oh, and would the bolt patterns be the same? Thanks Rick |

AFAIK, it should bolt in, but I think the 85 has the larger bolt pattern (5x5"). |

I have parted out a couple 70s-80s dodge pick ups all 4x4s and they have had 5 on 5 0r 5 on 4.5 It had to do with wether the front axle had manual hubs or not. Front manual should be 5 on 5 and the back axle would match in that case. |

Well, mine is a 2WD. But if the 82 could have 5 X 4 1/2" then I could swap front rotors and get to a pattern to match my new 8 3/4. That would be fine too. A lot more rim choices! Rick |
