| Post subject: | Water Pump Mod's Help Required |
Hi, Am looking at using Davies Craig external electric water pump. Wanted to remove water pump altogether however it is has water inlet built into it so can't just use a plate to block off on the block. Tried to locate the marine water pump but no luck. If anyone has one and would part with it, please let me know. If I was to modify an original water pump, i.e. lop off the snout with the pulley and cover with a blanking plate and remove the impellor, what mod's have to be made to the inside - if any? Cheers Guys. |

Just plate it with a large enough fiting to go from pump and small fiting to go to head. Richard |

Did you mean to use a blanking plate at the block, and have the bottom radiator hose (electric water pump) then feeding directly into/from the head? |

No the water has to flow through the head (look at the water pump) and the hose from the inline pump goes into the block off plate. So you will need 2 fitings (one to the head and 1 for the water to get into the motor) one will be for 1/2" hose and the other will be sized for the electric pump. Richard |
