Am contemplating a 170 build with a 3.8 Buick supercharger with a Quadrajet carb, I have a 5.38 rear axle, an overdrive 4 speed trans, would be installing the 5/16 oversize valves and installing longer rods with 2.5 turbo pistons, six into one header. This going into a uni-body built t-bucket so itll be very light, my question is, would a 75' style cam be appropriate and what rod to use to achieve high 7 to 8.5 compression ratio. |

For a 170, just use stock crank, rods. I would use a forged piston of stock specs. The compression ratio should be about 8 to 1. The Buick turbo MIGHT be a little large for a 170. |

Sounds good; Ill plan on doing up the crank, shot peen rods and blueprint ect. I was thinking blower instead of turbo, besides going to a carb shop is there much in the way of special mods?I read about the .078 hole in oil pump on the crank scraper website, how bout a blower cam? |
