Does anyone know where a guy can buy a set of adapters so I can switch from the 5by4 to a more modern size? 8)

Mike, I just bought some wheel adapters from Summit Racing for $39.99 a set (a set consists of two, not four). They are TD performance/ Hedman brand and look to be good if you want to use them on a driver. However, they are made from cast aluminum and should not be used for track or drag racing. If you want stronger adapters, call Stockton Wheel in California. They make their adapters ($129.00 for a set of two) out of 6061 aircraft aluminum to withstand a bit more abuse. Hope this helps.

I suggest using blue LocTite on the studs, and torqueing them to specs with a good torque wrench. When the wheel is on your wheel studs, they can appear tight, but the ones on the adapter are obscured and you can't tell if they are still tight. Personal experience, about 30 some years ago.
