Would throttle body injection work okay with the Offy dual carb manifold? Would it be as difficult to balance the two TBI units as with dual carbs ? |

I would think that it would be incredibly easy to balance the two injectors... Simply run them in parallel. - Mac |

I've never tried it, but this idea has occurred to me—see here. I don't think this would be terribly difficult to get running. Some of the details (air cleaner...) might be a nuisance to get right, but I don't think anything would be particularly impossible about it. |

Actually someone did this years ago with a pair of 2.5 GM throttle bodies. |

Hmm... I might pursue dual TBI. If it is not too much trouble I might also attempt it on a Chrysler flat head six where two one barrels are a common upgrade (and old carbs are often pretty worn ) |

Interesting! But not a TBI system. |

That is what I thought. It is the only dual throttle body slant six FI system I have ever seen though.

That was pretty awesome. I am sure he has put a good ECU engine management system in there by now. I had a similar car when I was a kid. I would love to see it. Sam |

It doesn't matter where the injectors are as long as they are a matched set. There can be variances among injectors new out of the box - if your that worried about it there are many rebuilding / cleaning type places that flow match them. With identical throttle bodies, I don't see an issue. |

I want to use the 2 x 1 Offy manifold with Dutra duals. In south Texas I think there would be enough heat during most of year. The TBI manifold on my 3 cylinder Geo Metros looks about the same as each side of the Offy manifold. That Suzuki TBI system does not have heat, its get 49 MPG too, although its getting low on compression. I think a TBI system would work well. I like the looks of the Offy manifold w/o the fuel rail. I don't know where to look for parts. |

I have the same Offy 2x1 manifold and am tossing up between TBI or Multi point EFI.In Australia I beleive the local GM small car (called Camira) had a 1bbl TBI system, but I think its better sourcing a USA model mainly for spares and availability, these things are old and have been out of production for years, perhaps NOS or rebuilt units are available in the USA. Looking at the manifold I would imagine heating wouldnt be too much of a hassle in Texas, but if it was,I think it wouldnt be too hard to run water into the exhaust passageways that are cast in to the manifold to provide a little more heat. I guess the trade off is clean looks of the TBI,remembering that this is a bit of a compromise,or go full on multi point and make the installation as neat as possible, either way I think it would be a great upgrade. This will be my first EFI conversion so I look forward to hearing what others do with their 2x1 intakes! Thanks,Steve |

Last time I saw the car was a few years back (we're both in Calgary). He was still running the same setup - no EMS |
