I went to my local parts store to pick up a Wix 51806 which was not in stock. Crossed with Hastings LF436 which is about $5 cheaper. Any thoughts on this one, Dan? Parts man said its the same but I didn't see the internal standpipe that I am used to seeing in the 51806 and 1806 filters I usually buy....Thanks! |

If it's missing the standpipe then it's not functionally the same. |

I used to get Hastings filters when there was a parts store near me that had them. Haven't bought one in years; no idea how good or bad they are these days. Presently occupying the top spot on my "primo oil filters" list is Fleetguard LF-3487. |
