I needed a gallon of Evans coolant after R&Ring the radiator for a project unrelated to the radiator. Their web site indicated a local dealer just 4 miles away who happens to be a high end Ferrari service center. I went in to buy a gallon of it, and the owner of the shop who was a very nice guy said they put the Evans coolant in their high end race cars. He had no end of nice things to say about it. He seemed impressed that I knew about it. His use of it in expensive, high end, high performance vehicles increased my confidence in the product. Dan, you are in good company.

I really, really like the stuff because it really, really does what the maker says it'll do, and the benefits for even a low-HP daily driver are real and large. It's the only reason I got to swap the radiator in my '91 Spirit 3.0 on my schedule instead of the car's (original radiator was well past due and would've gone BOOM and come out in pieces if I were running a pressurised coolant). I'm going to run an experiment with a 205° thermostat instead of the stock 195° item as soon as Casey F makes me a custom thermostat spacer/adaptor and Don at BoostButton nudges the electric fan setpoints 10°-12° higher in the ECM I sent him. Probably wring some extra fuel economy out of the car.

How much are you guys paying for Evans coolant, and how long does it last?

It's about $44 (USD) per gallon, and it lasts forever. Because there is no water, there is no corrosion, therefore the coolant does not get dirty or depleted or exhausted.

If you spill it on the floor, it stays there indefinitely. This must be because it has such a high boiling point. If you use it, do not be frightened by the fact that your temp gauge will read higher. This is because the coolant extracts more heat from the metal. So, while the coolant is hotter, the engine parts are actually cooler.
