I am going to try and haul the Valiant up to the South Mtn Dragway next Friday afternoon/Evening to race in their program. I think Ryan will be taking the race car (Seymours old one) too. If you are going to the Chryslers at Carlisle event stop on out Friday to the track. Time runs start at 3:00PM. Hopefully we can go a couple rounds and give the Slants a good showing! This is an 1/8th mile track.

Well, We are home and unloaded and it isn't 7:30 yet!

Left at noon and all was going well until my tow truck blew an upper hose. No problem, Ryan was behind me so we towed the race car through Shippensburg to get a hose and some antifreeze. 30 minutes later we are back on the road. The temp light never came on until the hose let go, so I was hoping it was just a fluke. No such luck. We could only drive about 2-3 miles and it would overheat. 100 degree heat was just too much for a stock slant towing a car, even without any major hills.
So we made off the interstate and driving slower it still overheated. When we stop this time Ryan's left front rotor is smoking because the caliper is locked up.
So while we are waiting for both vehicles to cool down some, I pulled the electric fan off my valiant and mounted it in front of my radiator on the truck. That cooled it down enough to get us home and Ryan's caliper was OK also.
So we had a practice run loading and unloading! I missed the drag racing that I really wanted to go too. But, I know what is needed. A larger radiator, electric fan and about 50 more horsepower.
