can I use hydro lifters on a solid grind cam ????? any of you gurus got an answer thanks Indian |

I wouldn't. If I recall, the hole drilled in the rear journal is larger on the hydraulic cams to allow more oil flow to the rockers, and subsequently, the lifters. There is also a special stepped bolt for the rear of the rocker shaft to allow more oil through. To run the hydro lifters properly, you would need the remaining parts for the hydro set-up, which includes a hydro cam, and non-adjustable rockers. ~THOR~ |

already have the other parts am wondering if I can un my 276 dur purple solid cam in hydro engine or do I need to change vavle train to solid????? |

That old Mopar grind needs a lot of lash to run properly and you get around .006" effective lash give or take with hydraulic lifters. Definitely run that cam with solid lifters and an adjustable valve train. |
