Rolling around some eye-deers.

225 bored and stroked? Use '86-ish ultralightened cast crank for quicker RPM?

Street motor some track time. Would go with long rods, aluminum if someone wants to donate! Or some K-1's or refurbished peened stockers?

My brain wants to look for used ***** rods. Was told alky rods stretch, fueler's compress.

Just weighing options and theories.

From what I see, a stroked crank is pretty expensive and probably not needed with a turbo build. With the right turbo set-up you can make more horsepower than you can probably use, even at a stock stroke.

What HP and RPM are you after? 350-400 HP @5500 RPM is doable with a completely stock (good shape) bottom end.

Dare to dream, but having a running vehicle is better than all the talk in the world.

I have 2 225's, and the 198 in the Duster. I split with the GF that was sucking up a lot of "me" time.

I am on the look out for a cast crank from the late 80's. Only slant I saw at the Pullapart on Friday was a '64. I got the carb. It did have the push button stuff. Bezel was busted.

I believe a light crank would be a cool thing to do but as far as power, i'm sure you could make whatever power you'd like to make regardless of the heavy bit in the bottom end but then again seeing some rpm would be cool. Just an example though my motor turns 5500-6000rpm pretty easy and i have the heavy forged crank k1 rods and weisco pistons but all of the fancy stuff was just for strength and to save me from rookie tuning mistakes with the turbo hopefully :) still haven't damaged anything as of yet as far as the engine goes. I agree with lou you could just turbo a fresh stock motor maybe even stick a cam in it and crank the boost up to however fast your trying to go

The ladies do take up some time! your gonna get a ton done on a car now

I probably wouldn't increase the displacement - keep the cylinder bores thick, and the crank at its full strength. I suspect the cylinder head is more of a bottleneck. The good thing about turbos on a slant six, also, is that they don't need to rev to make good power.

Not sure I'd run aluminum rods on the street; they are pretty bulky and have a finite lifespan. K1s and some custom Wiseco pistons are what I'm planning to do if I have to rebuild my short block.

Not looking for sky high revs. Just want to get it spiining really quick. Heck I have spun mine past 5200 before.

A "Twiggy" cast crank is what I was aiming at. Compensating or planning on building heat for the turbo to have a good hard launch.
