Err... just add an adapter ring to make-up the size difference.

Post subject:  Yep, or...

If you are lucky enough to find a 1975-1976 A-body or 1976-1980 F body with a 3 speed, the unit will have an input bearing retainer that will bolt to the 833 and fit the OD bell...pretty much a tough to find item, and Wildcat/Brewers want some $$$ for one if in stock.

Isn't the overdrive bearing retainer bigger than the regular 4 speed retainer? I put up an ad on FABO last year and was able to trade a guy mine for an OD retainer. Put up an ad over there and see what you can get.

Yes but there are things that have to happen:

1) The A-833OD uses a larger diameter bearing retainer...but the input bearing is the large 308 style bearing that you would find in the 440/6pak and hemi 18 spline boxes...
2) The standard A-833 and most 3 spds, use the smaller 307 input bearing so their retainer bolt pattern is much smaller...

So the choices are:

Sleeve like Doc has shown.

1975+ A-230 bearing retainer (small bearing bolt pattern with the 5.125" retainer diameter).
