I have been racing big blocks in B- Bodys for many years. At one time I had a Jeep with an inline six with a 4-Bl aand some work and it did ok. I currently have a B-Body with a slant six and was think of putting it on the track. How fast is a stock one in the 1/4. aand with bolt on stuff what can I expect? A friend and I have always talked about getting an old front engin dragster and puting a six in it. What would be an estimated speed with an 1800 lb car with a mildly built six run. every on at our track runs 8 cylinders. I would like to try something new! |

Welcome to the world of Slant Six racing and performance.... So, using the nifty littly calculator posted below, 250 HP engine in an 1800 lb car will get you into the low 11's That should get everyone's attention at your local track! http://www.turbofast.com.au/Drag.html DD |

Hi, I've got a slant six powered FED. Runs low 12s at 111 now, with powerglide/4.56 8 3/4 11.5/31.5 tires/1550 lbs/170"wb. The current engine is pretty mild, 225cid, 8ish to 1 CR, 4bbl Offy intake, 390 Holley Vac Sec/Mopar Perf ported head, 284*/0.528 MP solid cam, 4000 stall converter. More radical motor/904 trans/better converter and this car would probably go high 10s. Would probably require less gear though. email me if you want further info, mark |
