I've done some searching and can't find any references to hi-po hydraulic engines. I was just doing some paper building and thinking for my use (mostly road rally/tsd/cruising) that a hydraulic cam/valvetrain could be a good option. In theory it will help me take the edge off a big cam at low RPMs, and no valve adjustments will be nice. |

I don't know if they make the clacking lifters for a slant. A friend ran a wild hydro cam in a Ford. They sounded solid at lower speeds. Good vacuum at idle and for his power brakes. |

Slant six hydraulic lifters are fed oil from the rocker shaft, through the rocker arm and down through the pushrod. AMC lifters are fed oil through the side and will not work in a slant. |

Wasn't sure if the side hole in the AMC lifter would be a problem since there is no drilling there (in the slant lifter gallery). |

Already been down that road of thought. I have a head scratcher I'm about to think about trying. Zilla sold me an old ultradyne juice cam and I have a set of 80's juice lifters than may get put into play in the block on my engine stand. Have a few things to take care of and prep the lifter gallery drain holes before proceeding. I also need to look at the head and make sure I will have proper drainage at the pushrod holes as well... Theorhetical build looks good on paper with 12:1 and that .55 lift...(minus pushrod flex...) -D.Idiot |
