Post subject:  PCV Valve Replacement Options?

Hello - I've been reading these forums for about six months and am just now arriving at a question I haven't seen answered here.

I'm a newbie, although I've been getting smarter every day thanks to all of you, the books you recommended, and the experiences you've had.

I am bringing a family heirloom 1964 Dodge Town Wagon with a Slant 6 225 back to a condition that will last us a lot longer. There's more to the story, which I'll post separately, as we're kind of at a standstill based on how it's behaving.

Short term though - we have an elbow-style PCV valve that looks just like this one at Jegs: http://www.jegs.com/i/Mopar-Performance ... ProductId=

Rather than spend $90+ on a part that should cost a whole lot less than that, does anyone know of replacement/rebuild parts? We don't need snazzy chrome, we really just need it to work.

Thank you! There's more to follow!

Jon

It's been so long since I bought one I didn't realize the original screw down kind weren't available, but I just checked the online sites and they're just showing the newer push in kind wrongly listed for the older vehicles.

Usually all you have to do is give it a thorough cleaning, but if you insist on a new one I found these on ebay.

A lot better than $90, but still too much for me for a PCV.

See here or swap on a '66-up valve cover (rubber grommet fitting rather than metal chimney/cap for PCV valve)
