Working on my first slant six and i'm trying to figure out what camshaft is in this engine, the previous owner said it had been changed to something bigger but i have my doubts. The only numbers on it that i can find are D3, C29 & 750. |

Is there any stampings on the end face of the rear journal? If not, it's time to do some measuring or simply send the cam to a cam grinder to be measured. DD |

i saw no stampings on either end of the cam unfortunately, wasn't sure if stock camshafts came with no id's on the journal end or not. |

to get an idea on the lift, use a caliper to measure from the toe to the heel (the longest distance) across the lob, then measure the base circle by getting the distance across the lob, (side to side) and subtract that from the toe to heel measurement. That will be lift at the cam. Multiply that by 1.5 (for stock slant six rockers) that will get you lift at the valve. |
