| Post subject: | trans colour for 63 Valiant |
I am asking for a friend and want to seem like I know what I'm talking about! Quote: "can anybody confirm that a 63 valiant's auto trans was painted red by the factory ?
Is this true?
we've pulled the trans from a 63 valiant convert and it is red, same as the motor. we've been advised this is the way it was......." |

It should have a brownish black patina from years of driving with minor oil leaks and road grime. If you remove the patine, it should have a natural cast-metal unpainted finish. |

Well, that settles it! Thanks guys! And I know the patina well. My 727 is covered in a nice coat of it. |

The (original) push button on my "63 Valiant was-is "bare-arse nekkid" aluminum. Can't say that I've ever seen a pass car torqueflite that was painted from the factory. |

I know it don't mean much but the Aussie cars weren't painted either (or at least their trannies weren't LOL) |
