Post subject:  Carter BBD for a Jeep

In my search to buy a carter BBD carb for the super six conversion im putting together, I continue to find carbs listed for a jeep YJ.
Will these carbs work on my 1980 slant six? I know nothing of the engine in the jeep. Any info would be great.
Thanks guys!

The old AMC 4.2L (258) used a similar model BBD to what the super six and 318 used, linkage and other things would have to be adapted to be useable. I'm not sure about the jetting and calibration on these.

NO, NO! Warning! Stay away from the BBD's for the Jeep!

They are NOT identical to BBD for Mopars, and they are notorious for their lack of a decent idling circuit.

Take a look in a jeep forum, they are full of articles about how to replace their hated BBD version with anything else!

Search the forum here for an eBay address, to get a new Holley replacement for the BBD. Judging by the reports from other members, they are a good buy at a decent price.
