| Post subject: | stromberg ww carb. |
hi every one, I would like to start by wishing everyone a merry Christmas. I came across a stromberg ww carb at the junk yard. It was under the drivers seat of a slant 6 van. I plan to play with it and see if I can get it working.. (just for fun) It has 056 main jets, and the the power valve I can make out a 68. the #'s stamped on the out side is 237200. I think it could be a 2-372??? Does any one know what I could expect if I put it on a stock slant 6? Are the jets on the bigger or smaller size for my 82 d150? I would like to get good performance and as much mpg as possible. Any info would help greatly. |

I have used a stromberg before. I was off a 65 Dodge van with a 318. It had good power but not so good mpg. I do know that you can't compare jet sizes between different manufatures. So while that size jet on an Autolite would be grossly over rich, lt may be close on a stromberg. |

ok,, I guess I will have to try it and see. The jets for this carb are not cheat,, I wanted to be somewhere around the middle of the spectrum and go from there,, |

I got 22mpg out of one on a trip, just like a 318 sized Holley 2bbl. Stromberg carbs do not have power valves. I got a dissasembled one the other day. Missing some screws. |

the stromberg I took apart does have a power valve. That is what the stromberg parts listed it as. As I said, it was under the seat of a van with a slant 6 at the junk yard, I only suppose it was at one point used on this van. I dont know why it was removed!! I will kit it and see what happens, I only wanted to know a little more about the jets and go mid way on the size. I wanted to avoid taking it apart as much a s I could. |
