I have a 1963 Ply Valiant (2 dr 225 CID eng auto trans push buttons on dash) that has been sitting for awhile. Unfortunately, the fluid has leaked out of the trans. Can someone tell me the correct type of trans fluid to use and any specials problems that I should be aware of when I fire her up again.

Other than just draining(pan & torque converter), filter change and refilling, is there anything to do when switching from old type F or Dexron to say ATF+4?

In 63 they had a inline filter in the cooler lines not sure if they are still available but I understand you can convert the older ones to take the in the pan filter. Check with tflight_patty a seller on ebay for parts for early torqueflite transmissions. Also yes the +4 fluid would be good.

While talking to TF Patty, order a kickdown lever and dipstick seal (o-ring)...
These are likely leak points for the early 904s.
