I understand the benefits of the dutra exhaust. My question is can they be used with a Clifford 4 bbl intake. The clifford web site says you must use headers. The manifold I have however, is 10 years old (I think). It doesn't look like the one on the site. The # on it is m-4500. If I must use headers, which set up is best for my car ? (64 dart). Thanks to anyone for your help. :D

If you use headers, Clifford's are about your only choice. The headers for the '67-'76 A bodies will not fit without a lot of hacking around, and Clifford is the only ones I know of for the early A.

The trouble spot with the Clifford intake is the "heat box" (heat riser valve) mounting area.

I have seen early Clifford intakes which have the rectangular walls on the bottom of the manifold but it is not machined to the correct angle needed to seal-up on the stock cast iron exhaust manifold. Some of the Clifford intakes have the bolt bosses undrilled so that mounting the stock exhaust takes some extra machine work.

Later Clifford intake did not have the rectangular walls on the bottom of the manifold so if you have one of these, water heating is the only option.

As for Dutra Duals and the Clifford intakes, I can set you up with a number of different options to make everything work, including doing the finish machining on the intake so it accepts factory cast iron exhaust manifolds. (That is, if the material is there to machine)
