I have a 1967, 170, Valiant Signet, that originally had power steering, now has manual, and i want to do a nice clean ONE BELT install. Main question is, will the stock pulley, line up with the inner crank pulley if i remove the spacer from behind the water pump pulley? or do i need the shallow V8 water pump pulley? or do i need the thin water pump spacer? i have the single sheeve alternator already, but have not hung as of yet to see where i end up. Just wanted to post this to see if anyone knows the correct OEM route before i end up making a spacer. OR, end up just bolting the second pulley back on the crank and using one belt, etc, would rather NOT have to leave an empty sheeve and extra pulley for no good reason.

The only thing that changes on power steering removal is the front pulley on your harmonic damper can be removed as that only should have the belt that drove the PS pump. The standard belt should run from the damper groove, to the water pump pulley to the single groove alternator.

(I'm looking to see if I have a pic of a stock setup I've posted that shows this.)

you can see the how far off the pulleys are, this is with the stock sl6 water pump pulley with the stock spacer behind it, i am thinking i just have to remove the spacer and it will line up. I did not realize this while bolting the fan on, but it is still loose, so, i can just undo what i did and start over, it was trying to get it all together without scratching any new paint and did not want to take it apart again just yet, maybe tomorrow, or after i get the alternator hung first,

umm according to the ebay listing you posted I can see why it won't line up.
you have all the parts you need but not put together in the right order.
the spacer goes on the OTHER side of the pulley.

it should go.
water pump to pulley to spacer to fan.
then things should line up good for you

Something is seriously misaligned on your pulleys. You mention you have a spacer behind the water pump pulley. I am not aware of any stock slant six that used a spacer behind the water pump pulley. If you have one, remove it. The power steering belt ran on a pulley on the power steering pump and a pulley bolted to the front of the vibration damper/crank pulley. The water pump/alternator belt runs on the stock middle crank pulley, the alternator, and the water pump. For some reason your water pump pulley is sitting too far forward.

Here's the original single belt setup on mine (manual steering). Note the fan hub spacer is on the front of the pulley as mentioned above, this puts the pump pulley in proper alignment and spaces the fan out toward the radiator.




Please ignore the dual groove pulley on the alternator, it has nothing to do with a second belt or power steering etc, it is not the correct alt pulley for this application:
