Are the steel head gaskets still available for the slant?

I do not know of any gasket suppliers who have a current listing for the .020 steel "shim type" gasket.
I have good luck finding them by calling the NOS gasket suppliers listed in Hemmings and on the web.

Be warned, only use a shim type gasket on freshly machined surfaces, both block and the cylinder head must have a clean / flat surface for these to seal.

If it is a used surface, stick with a composition gasket so you get a good seal.

Is any one composit gasket thinner than the other? I.E. is Fel Pro thicker or thiner than ROL or any other major brand?

As far as I know, the steel shim gasket is still available from Chrysler Corp. I bought some last fall, from Koller Dodge. Part number 02843182 cost was between $4.00-$5.00.
