it runs!!!!! after resolving fuel and charging issues, i've noticed that the thermostat (temp) gauge is not working. does anyone know how to test a water sending unit? this slant takes a LONG time to warm up. however, it was finally blowing heat out of the heater/ defroster, so i know it is circulating. i have just replaced the thermostat, since the sending unit is "behind" the thermostat. i sure wouldn't want to risk overheating the engine, so i am determined to make the temperature gauge work. the wire to the sending unit appears to be in good repair. i didn't know to test it with the test light. |

Pull the wire off the sender and ground, the gauge should go to H...If not then it could be the wiring on either side of the bulkhead, the instrument cluster circuit board trace, or the gauge.-D.Idiot |

No on the values, but if it's anathemic, if he ground the sending wire and the gauge reacts he'll just spend $3 to get a new sender...the only critical thing that changed over the years is the placement and size.Does this vary through model years? -D.Idiot |
