What year truck? Could it be a lock up 727?? There is a write up on the Allpar site that will help identify it if it is. I have a lock up 727 in my 78 NYB, confirmed and working. They were apparently availble behind some \6's. What do the slanted experts say, are they desirable? Do they work well behind a slant? |

That decal means "high stall lockup". All lockup converters have damper springs inside. The color of the decal is the same as the damper springs. The color indicates the engine application. Blue= 225 CID White=318CID Red=360 and 400 engine Green and Orange= non lockup |

I would say, no. It is just a stock lockup converter . High stall in this case, only means about 200-300 rpm higher then a low stall. It must be used with a lockup trans.
