Greetings, I am going to switch out a 318 CI engine with a rebuilt Slant 6 in a 1960 Dodge D100 pickup. What problems and/or modifications can I expect? Thanks, lew

Engine mounts, transmission, exhaust, throttle linkage and kickdown linkage (if equipped with an automatic) transmission. Those are the basics you will need to cover. There will be smaller items such as radiator hoses connecting to the radiator ad possible modifying the engine wiring harness to make sure all the connections are still made.

The crankshaft hub register changed sizes in 68 and depending on the year of the crank in the motor you are putting in and the transmission you are using you may have to deal with this issue.

EDIT: Sorry, I mistyped earlier. Manual transmissions do not need a kick down.

You wrote ---motor mounts. are you referring to the location of the motor mounts on the frame, or the mounting blocks?? Thanks,Lew

Possibly both. I am not familiar enough with the early truck k-frames to tell you whether or not the trucks use the same K-frame in V-8 and six cylinder applications. I do know that you will need different metal mounting brackets for the motor. You most likely will also need different rubber insulators for between the motor mounts and the K-frame.

If you do decide on the swap i have a set of these that are clean and ready to prime and paint. Will make a deal on them!

I posted a separate post under transmissions asking about the bell housing.
Thanks, Lew
