I just rebuilt my 225 slant but it won't start, it has fuel but the spark is very weak. Anyone who have pictures on the disturberator and how it should fit? I bought my 65 Valiant last summer and it's my first car so a little help wouldn't be bad Thanks! |

Welcome to the Board! I am guessing that you are looking for the firing order. There is a diagram on this page that shows how the wires are connected between the distributor and the plugs. http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki ... _order.jpg It is also possible that you have inserted the distributor into the engine with the distributor out of timing sequence. Checking that involves getting the #1 cylinder to top dead center on its compression stroke, then checking to see that the rotor is aligned with the #1 post on the distributor cap. Figuring out which stroke is the compression stroke is done by removing the valve cover. Finally, there's a chance that you've got everything right and you have a weak component in the ignition system. Is the spark strong enough to fire across a spark plug? - Mac [/url] |

You can still check the timing to be sure you got the distributor in correctly. Read through this post: http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... 2add07eaca - Mac |
