I just rebuilt my 225 slant but it won't start, it has fuel but the spark is very weak. Anyone who have pictures on the disturberator and how it should fit?

I bought my 65 Valiant last summer and it's my first car so a little help wouldn't be bad

Thanks!

Welcome to the Board! I am guessing that you are looking for the firing order. There is a diagram on this page that shows how the wires are connected between the distributor and the plugs.

It is also possible that you have inserted the distributor into the engine with the distributor out of timing sequence. Checking that involves getting the #1 cylinder to top dead center on its compression stroke, then checking to see that the rotor is aligned with the #1 post on the distributor cap. Figuring out which stroke is the compression stroke is done by removing the valve cover.

Finally, there's a chance that you've got everything right and you have a weak component in the ignition system. Is the spark strong enough to fire across a spark plug?

You can still check the timing to be sure you got the distributor in correctly.
