Hi all, I am in process of rebuilding my 904 for my slant, the engine is at the machine shop right now.
One option I have is for flex or rigid bands, can someone enlighten me on which is the better option and what the differences are in them?

Thanks a bunch guys!

The rigid bands are stronger and great for drag racing, but cause a slight delay on a 3-2 downshift during street driving. I recommend a front semi-flex band from an A-500 Trans because they are 1/8 inch wider than a 904 one. But however,I've never installed one in a Trans earlier then 68.

Rigid is usually used on the low/reverse drum.
Flex bands are normally used on the front drum.
