I have a 727 in a slant six case and was wondering what the value might be? It needs to be rebuilt and I want to sell it. I can supply pics for someone who knows more than me to verify it.
Thank you,
John

I think you should let it out, it must be terribly cramped in there.

Those of you in Illinois and western Indiana, Acme Auto Parts along I-57
in Kankakee, had a truck frame, missing the entire body, slant 6 and 727 was still there and intact. I did not get close enuf to look at casting numbers, etc., to determine a year, but I cannot tell you howlong it has been since I have seen a slant 6 727 tranny. It was the standard long tail, not the shorter tail like some of the early 70'strucks and motor homes.
Got no idea on a price, but it oughtta at least be a good rebuildable core, huh? :P

For all you skeptics such a conversion is possible as I have a 727 in a 66 270 with a 225. Don't know how it was done and the person responsible is deceased now. Such are the mystries of life.

I've got a Slant 727 sitting in the garage, all rebuilt and ready to go. They are not incredibly rare.

Pre-'70's Slants got a small block 727 installed with the help of an adapter plate. There are a few of those plates turning up now too.
