just put a pertronix kit in a 383 dist , the reluctor ring has green tape around it, the instruction say nothing about removing the tape. do this green tape have to be removed or will the signal still be read through the tape?

Yes leave the tape on. I believe the instructions you download do say to leave the tape on.

I was going by the leaflet in the box, it don`t mention the tape at all! thanks , so the tape will stay. :o
