Re 2 barrel Carter
Just wondering if anyone has a method of checking the float level without taking the top off the carbie. Don't want to disturb the gaskets if possible.

Wondering if you can do it by unscrewing the needle seat and gauge how much petrol runs out, or doesn't run out.
The other option I guess would be to drill a little hole at the specified fuel level height and put a suitable removeable plug in it. Anyone got a recommendation of the height to make the hole?
Any other ideas?
Cheers

That seems like a Bad idea.

Why are you afraid of disturbing the gasket? Just check it the correct way.

He probably doesn't want to pull the carb drain it and flop it over to set the floats...and possibly buy a carb kit to replace the gasket too...

LOL.

Duster is onto my thinking...So can anyone tell me what the correct full fuel level in the bowl is in relation to the Needle and Seat hole?
