Just out of curiousity on my part.

-What year did the Slant 6 Cub of America start? and end? (or, are there still any chapters?)
-What year did the Slant 6 forum start? (Old message board post look like they start in 2002)
I like reading the old magazines, but instant answers are the Best!

Slantsix.com was around 1996/7.

Slantsix.org started as a "tailfins.com" forum and was around 1997/8.

Don't know about Slant 6 club, but I would guess early 1960s...

Lou

There are some chapters that are still active, Jack Poehler still has one here in the Willamette Valley and they meet in Portland every month...

I stopped going to SSCOA meets when Jack threw a complete fit that I had put a hyperpak intake on my engine and was able to get streetable mileage and good performance out of it.... he also had made some comments about the internet club crimping his style... his attendance was dwindling so he started allowing small block stock V-8 cars to compete in his shows...

"Slant six building is like kung fu. There are many disciplines...I would say I now follow the Dutra-Madsen style...that's where you take an slant with high compression, tame it with a taller cam, but limit the overlap by tweaking the lobe separation angle...then install a long ram and put it all at the end of a big stick....as long as the builder didn't slip, the clutch surely will!"
