I read on here the .045 over bore vs .085 has more to do with valves being shrouded then actually HP or power is this a problem at all if I am running forced induction ? IE a bl ower ? Thanks. Smitty [/u]

Some say that the larger bore gives better flow through the valves since the air does not hit the cylinder wall as hard coming out of the port. There is not a huge difference, but it will likely make some power difference, all else being equal. I am running 3.430" bore with big valves (1.76/1.50) with bore notches cut on my boost motor. I'm sure bigger bore would be better with these valve sizes, but it all works fine the way it is too (330 crank HP on 9.5 psi on 170k mile shortblock and good flowing head, conservative tune).

I did the same , at .080 over bore had to notch all the ex 1.60" valve and #3 of the intakes 1.81" intake.
