Car Model: 1974 Plymouth Duster
On my 74 Duster which has 72 doors, the driver side outside handle push button has stopped working. The button will depress, but apparently does not unlatch the door. The inside door handle on the same door does operate the door latch.

What should I start looking for?

the rod that connects the pushbutton to the latch has came loose-- would be my first guess- check ,Lawrence

Will do that first thing when I get back home next Monday.

most likely the clip that holds the rod on the lever has broken and let the rod come loose (similar to the clip for the carburator choke pull off). This is a common problem of the late A-bodies along with the outside button getting stuck "pushed in" due to factory quality going down hill over the years...
