59k original miles on car, stock ball/trunion in front with cracked rubber boot, old Ujoint in back. I think i should replace the 2 joints for a 6,000 mile trip this summer don't you?

what's the lowest budget way to get rid of the ball/trunion unit? I'll be having the local shop press on new Ujoints, maybe I should find a later model driveshaft and yoke for them to do?

whatcha think :?:

If the B&T is well lubed (check grease and maybe smear more in there, then install makeshift seal - like thick plastic with zip ties), then it should be good for 150k miles. I'd say if it has no slop, then don't worry about it for your trip.

Post subject:  Why Replace?

Would not consider ditching my B&T as long as Nappa can supply me I don't see the reason. Have on average gotten over 6yrs of service out of the replacement parts, same can't be said of u-joints, not to mention they have a higher tourque rating, Just keep them lubed. :D
