| Post subject: | rear drum size |
I am getting confused about the rear brake drum. I am going to replace all the shoes and drums on my car. It is a 1973 Dodge Dart 4 door, with slant 6 and an 904 trans. I have powered disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear. Axle is 7 1/4 and have LBP all around. I want to order new drums, on the O'reilley site, they have 2 drums available an 9" and 10", 9" is SBP and 10" is LBP, can I assume mine is a LBP and 10" drums. Are LBP available on 9" drums? thanks... |

There are no 9 inch LBP drums but there are SBP & LBP 10 inch rear drums. The widths are different with the LBP rear drums being 10" x 2 1/2" wide. DD |

bigslant6fan; I have to wait until outside temp gets above zero degrees to measure, I am sort of sure it is not 11". I think my dart may Canadian. Doc; Looks like a 10" drum, I know it is a LBP, since there are no LBP 9" drums. thanks for replying.....Jerry |

only on the 8 1/4" rear equipped cars, mostly the hi-po (340/360 cars)...I have yet to see a 7 1/4" car equipped with those monsters...(they would bolt on...)-D.Idiot |
