trying to replace drivers side rear axle bearing and have never done so. wondering what is involved..thanks |

The hardest part of the job is getting the old bearing removed from the axle. Some tips: You can use a big chisle & hammer to "V" the bearing "lock ring" and that will release it from the shaft. Use a "wizzer wheel" to "slit & split" the bearing races if you do not have a press and bearing "spreader". (as shown) A section of pipe and heating the bearing & lock ring, will make new bearing installation easier. DD
