Post subject:  proper gear lube for a 7.25 pumpkin?

Just wanted to top up the diff on my 63 v200 and not sure what to put in...

The 7 1/4 holds so little you can change the oil with one quart of lube. 80W-90 is fine. If it's getting a little worn 85W-140 is a good choice.

I like the "mud" it makes a noisy or old diff quieter....a little hard to get out of the jug on a cold day though... :lol:

I wound up filling it with Redline 75-90W. Amazing how quiet they get when there's some lube in there.
