ok guy's what's the do's & don'ts when porting a slant head for street use. i'm looking at a strong street race head. it's not a everyday driver it will be on club rego & just be driven to valiant club meets, out to the drags & weekend cruising. fuel consumption is not a issue. i have ported one slant head last year & it seems to have worked very well. as with all mopar heads i don't take anything off the bottom of the port & bottom of the short radius . what else do i need to know ? i will be looking at using valves in the 1.70in / 1.4 ish range, 500 cfm bbl carb & compression & cam to suit . again it's not a all out drag head but not a daily street driver, 3/4 race is my goal. A body into the 15's is the goal if i can quicker better but gotta keep it real $$$ wise. die grinder is good cheap hp. i will get the head cleaned , crack & sonic tested. i have time on my side & a spare head i can start working on.

Look at the info in the Engine FAQ section.....
some great photos, plus stock cut aways of head so you can see where to be careful when grinding.

hey thanks they are awesome pic's. i some how missed the top thread bunch of port cutaway photos. i can't wait to have another go now. i also found the port flow # thread as well. that was real interesting also. i wish there were photo's of chamber & bowl after porting. if they are on here i'd love to see them. it looks like as of tonight after seeing the cutaway photo's & called my mate with the slant, i have now got the job of doing a race head for him. this time with time & crack & sonic testing on my side. hopefully the head will see a flow bench. that will help when it's time for my head. btw what 11/32 valves do you guy's use ? if yous use them? thanks a bunch.
