striking out. looks like i might have to have one fabricated or just block off port. either way i will need a gasket. what type of material would be suitable to go against the franc case? the old gasket was completely gone. |

Is this the smog tube that connects to the back of the head near the fire wall? If so you can buy that gasket over the counter, or one of us may have a few left over from a full gasket kit. You can plate it off, or just use your old charge tube, cut it off about 2" from the flange, smack it flat with a hammer, and fold it over with some pliers about 2-3 times and install and it's sealed. -D.Idiot |

No, and unless your car is mint condition, it probably isn't working correctly anyway (the stock catalytic convertor isn't up to par either after 35 years of use). Does your area require smog tests on this car? If so, does it require a visual inspection? If not, you can remove it with no impact -D.Idiot |
