This is a newer car for us. 1971 valiant. I was curious. Just today I was driving around and once warmed it had a tough time running. Seems very much like a vacuum leak. Once it died ( on the freeway off ramp). It took a lot to get started. Seemed flooded. Got it home , let sit for a while then started up. Took a bit to get started but not as much as before. Only way it would stay running is with vacuum line up to air cleaner off. Once i shut it off. Fuel started to weap from front of carb body at what would seem to be the throttle shaft. Does this happen when flooding.

Need a new needle and seat to shut off the fuel flow. Reset the float level if it needs it after installing. Got to the Engine FAQ section and down load your manual.

The ethanol fuel will erode the tip of the needle over time.
