I am working on my sisters 63 valiant with a 225, needs a new radiator. I have thought about redoing the original but the tanks are pretty thinned out and just don't think it would be the best option. Been searching on line for days and can not find a radiator that will work. Found a champion that said it was for the year car but looking at it it isn't. I can find later years all day. The 63 has a off set passenger inlet on top and a passenger outlet on bottom. If anyone has replaced one and remembers what they used I would love to know. Thanks |

The early radiators have become harder to find these days. SlantSixDan had an aluminum radiator custom made, and posted about it some time ago. A search with Aluminum Radiator in the subject and SlantSixDan in the user name section should yield some information. As I understand, it was a perfect fit, performed well, and would be a nice upgrade. CJ |

For my 65 I bought a Champion 2 core for a 70 charger 21" I had to run custom radiator hoses but it fit like a champ and brought the fan within about 1/2 an inch of the radiator. |

The one from Summit has the inlet on the wrong side. It's for a V8 car. The Aluminum Radiator SlantSixDan had made was for the 60-62 cars. It's very close to the 63 cars, but there are some differences. I bought the NOS one he sent in as a pattern to install in Linda's '63. That was years ago. I wonder if I'll ever get that GT back? The bottom is the outlet of the radiator. Both the inlet and outlet are on the passenger side of the radiator for the slant cars of that era. CJ |

I searched the thread down front slantsixdan and called the guy that made his for him. He said around 400 plus shipping and would have to ship mine to him. I think that's a fair price but might be a bit more then my sister has set aside. When I totaled the cost of parts for her I used 200 for the radiator based on andys http://www.andysautosport.com/plymouth/ ... 00155.html If changing the thermostat housing would allow a different radiator I would be game. Anyone know which housing would be needed? Thanks for the replies. |

Thanks, I wonder if fitment for the radiator would be the same on a 63, if so then that would be the way to go. I'll have to remeasure tomorrow.
