I'm doing my HEI wiring today. I got a ford coil and pigtail. Which wire is the POS, and which wire is the NEG on the ford coil ( has a flat gray clip) .
Also does it matter which wire goes to which on the dist pigtail. I know that they are side by side on the module.

im assuming you have been to this link? http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15779

anyhow. if your colors coming out of the pig tail are green and red. red would be positive and green would be ground. for the pig tail it does matter but it wont hurt anything if they are backwards. if they are backwards it will run like crap and you can just switch them. look at the diagram in the link for the proper routing of the wires.

It is not the red on I believe , look into the connector on the coil and I think you can see the + and - signs .

I did this exact swap years ago using a coil for a Taurus and the + and - were marked in tiny markings. However, I didn't use a Ford plug, just my own wires. If you hooked it up backwards it would still run, just not as well.

I would run out and look but mine is buried under a heat sink.

right you are..tiny +/- in the coil ( I should spend more time looking/ and less time typing).........soo about the wire that go to the dist pickup, does it matter how they hook up to the module ??

The extra green from the pigtail is for connecting a tachometer
