Had a crack in the exhaust manifold so I ordered new Dorman 674-232 exhaust manifold. It came with new gasket but I'm wondering if I could use the original metal gasket what was used with the original exhaust manifold? It is in pretty good condition and with liberal amount of sealer should it work fine or not?

I have reused them in the past, don't anymore because I am a lot more particular in my work then I was in my teens. But never had an issue with a used one since no coolant passes through them.
If you do it I'd at least check for vacuum leaks after it's all buttoned up.

You probably can re-use a manifold gasket, but why would you?
Buy a Remflex gasket and be Happy that you don't have to re-install your manifolds because they (might) leak.

MSRP $48.99
<----- That's a damn good reason right there. If I had to spend $50 on a gasket I'd go back to reusing the old ones real quick.

Its a bit to take down at first, but first set of remflex gaskets you buy, you will never look back to any others! I promise you that! They will seal anything from warpped flanges to moderate imperfections, and you will not blow them out... Only downside is DO NOT BEND THEM!

As far as re-using, I really dont recommend it, especially with how thin and brittle the OEM style gaskets are... If you do, a good rule of thumb is if any ripping or seperation of the gasket upon removal of the manifold, DO NOT re-use it! If it comes off good, save yourself a little headache and put a thin film of copper-coat on the old gasket before re-using it.
