Last year, the owners of the strip put it up for sale, and did have a few nibbles.
In yesterday's WCF Courier, a write-up appeared about the track, and luckily, it's been sold to a father/son team that do plan on keeping it open, as a dragstrip. The biggest, most immediate change is that it's going to IHRA sanctioning and rules. They do plan on keeping most of the original events, such as the MoparMax event, Night of Fire, etc.

There were some future plans/changes mentioned for 2015, but no real details.

All-in-all, a good news story, as there was a lot of concern and speculation flying around locally that it was going away for good.

Scotty Gardner who used to manage Cedar Falls and Cordova is now the head of the IHRA. Scotty is a good guy, CF should do well, as should the IHRA.

Chris MacMahon is now in charge at Cordova. He is good people too.
