Anyone have any input on carpet kits? My 65 Valiant needs some, but now that it's a 4-speed 4-door, no one lists it. For example, Stock has either 2-dr 4-speed or 4-dr automatic/column. Any idea whether either one will fit? http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpe ... box_holder http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpe ... odelId=371 The picture for the 2-dr 4-speed is generic, so I can't tell from that. Thanks for sharing any experience you may have in this area. |

Does your car have a console, or rubber boot sticking up from transmission hump? |

I got it from Trim Parts in Lebanon, Ohio which is only about 25 minutes north of Cincinnati. The Carpet was excellent and the color I picked matched the metallic blue interior very nicely. They were helpful and it takes about three days from the time you order it that you can p/u or have it shipped. I think you should look in the direction of a '65 Barracuda carpet kit possibly to accommodate the 4 speed conversion you have and/or tell them what you have/working on. Good luck! |

My car does/will not have a console, just a boot on the shifter. I would like a one-piece carpet so the seam doesn't show between the bucket seats, but that's not a huge problem. I'm curious about how a 2-dr or a cuda carpet would fit a 4-dr - would it stop short of the rear sills? I'll check out Trim Parts and see what they show... |

Hey Valleyant, is your car a 4-speed? How was the molding job - good fit to the floor? And finally, was it one piece? Their website says they 'leave it long and wide so you can trim it to fit your car', so it sounds like that might work as long as it fits the tunnel ok. |

No, it's an auto on the column. My car has a bench seat. Yes very nice fit to the floor and it is a 2-piece. When I told them I would be picking it up, they asked me if I wanted to pick it up unboxed. So there is that option also. If it is boxed, they recommend it sit out in the sunlight for a few hours for it to help redefine the mold shape. I am very happy with it. You would have to tell them about your particular car and see what they can offer. Barracuda came to mind when you said you converted yours to 4 speed and buckets. There was about an 8 inch overlap between the 2 carpets. Maybe it's designed this way so there is plenty for the 4 doors longer wheel base....just a guess. I know your looking for a 1-piece so maybe give them a shout and see what they can come up with. Good luck! pm me and I can send you some pics of my install. |
