I just finished my new 170 engine. Bored and hone .060 with a block plate. TRW forged piston, with valve relieves added. Deck cut .010 to clean up. Head milled to 37 cc chambers. Shim head gasket. Calculated CR is 11.56 to 1. MP valves 1.70 intake, and 1.44 exhaust. MP dual springs with damper, and aluminum retainers. Crane keepers. Crane 3/8 pushrods. NOS rocker arms and shaft. MP cam .528 lift and 284 duration, 76 degrees over lap. Cloyes double roller timing set. Rotating assy is balanced, and full groove mains. MP windage tray and baffled oil pan. Intake will be a Clifford intake with a nitrous fogger (from my other engine). Carb will start with a Holley 465 that I am running now, with plans to go bigger. Not sure what headers, Yet. Might use Clifford shorties, or Aussiespeed long tube, if I can correct some issues. Ign is a fixed advance stock distributor, with a MSD 6a.

Won't have it installed for the NC races, but hope to have it ready for Crossville, Tn.

I would have gone for a wider lobe separation on the cam, but the specs look great otherwise! I hope you have a serious torque converter!

Cam was one of my "deals", and on the shelf. 8 inch converter.

I'm building engines, using up parts I have on hand.

go Charlie Go!!!

I have enough shelf parts to put 3 more 225's together in various "flavors" when I get a garage...Look forward to seeing how this one turns out, looks pretty healthy!!!

Me, too. With my luck it probably won't be as good as my "junk" motors. Never put this much into a slant engine, before.
